You can tell what kind of New Year you'll have based on the habits you're maintaining in the days beforehand. At least, that's the case for me. I don't believe in reinventing yourself on New Year's Day. If it's so important to you, you'll do it on any day of the year. Sure, I always try to be my best self in January. But it's about building on things you already have, things that you've implemented because they matter enough that you can't wait until New Year's to start them. I go for the things I want all the time. I constantly try new things throughout the year, and I constantly cycle through picking up and neglecting good habits. If you do anything on New Year's Day, become the person who goes for the things they want on any day of the year.
