Part of what makes the Daffodil so lovely is that whenever I see it, I think of the French name, which is "Jonquil". And whenever I think of the word "Jonquil", I think of "La Joconde", which is the Mona Lisa. And then I remember that in English it is less commonly called the Narcissus, and I think of the myth of Narcissus. Then, only after all of that, do I remember that the name it is widely known by is the Daffodil
